My sister-in-law Carol has cancer. The latest cancer is a cancer she received from her treatments. They are about to verify that she's in remission and is to undergo a stemcell transplant. She had to move to Oregon for a few months in order to be near her treatment center. The last transplant was accepted by her body, but it left her immune system flawed. Since she is unable to live without the rebuilding of her blood cells, she needs to go through this one last treatment.
This letter is to Carol,
You are an amazing woman. You have brought only positive energy the world that surrounds you in spite of all the trauma you have been through. There are heroes and then there are heroes who live with inspiration; you are my hero of inspiration. I think sometimes you break, and sometimes you even pour your sorrow to the earth, but to your family you have always allowed them to hope, to give them another month, week, or day to think that you'll be fine. What a gift you are.
You are about to undergo another battle, but now you go with a beaten body. You are a warrior capable of great things because of the strength of your mind. I hold you close in my thoughts, my heart, and every prayer I'm capable of.
My boys love you, your brother loves you, and I love you. Your parents are surely very proud of you, and your family is behind you. I wish I could be there as one of your soldiers and even take a few hits for you, but I know that like every warrior, this battle is yours. I believe that all the positive energy that you have ever radiated throughout this nightmare is surrounding you; it will be there to hold you, and to nourish you back to health.
Please know that we are all with you.
All my love,
Sandy

I don't know Carol but am praying with you for her, Sandy. Her positive attitude is a great healing aid during this rough time.
Oregon welcomes her!
Thank you for the links. Thank you for sharing this intimate vulnerability.
Nicely expressed. I'll be sending a few words for her to the appropriate places:)
Thanks Cherie and Mike, every kind thought and prayer is appreciated.
What a beautiful letter, Sandy. I will pray for Carol too...
I know it's hard to see a loved one suffer, and I so relate to wanting to take a hit for her. Your words to your sis-in-law surely mean a lot.
Thanks for your prayers Pam. Hope your life is exploding with good stuff.
Deanna, sounds like it may be close at hand. Thanks for the kind words.
